Meeting Minutes-Virtual Zoom Meeting



In attendance:  Niki Traylor, Laura Goulbourne, Lori Weichmann, Kevin Kunst,  Robin Renschler,  Holly Ziemer, Tammy Kleeman-Dillback, Leah Whitaker, Misty Eastep, Chris Madras, Enida D-Etti, Coleen Scholer, Lisa Boyle,  Anna Palmer, Shannon Dierlam, Judith Kunst, Carolyn Grant Thompson



Niki Traylor brought the meeting to order at 5:04PM beginning with consent items.

  • Previous meeting minutes were approved with one change in typo
  • Shannon made a motion, second by Misty



Treasurer’s Report: 

  • $200 made from face mask and cap sales
  • Provided $500 funding for multi-divisional social/emotional support
  • Showplace Cinema give back night made $72.69
  • School store has provided $7,240.00 in gift cards



A “How Well Do You Know Him” game was played in celebration of Mr. Kunts’s 50th birthday.


Department Updates:


Head of School

  • Thanked the parents and staff for compliance with COVID policy
  • Reported scheduled meeting with County Health Department to discuss new CDC guidelines
  • As a result may be making adjustments to current EDS policies


Primary School

  • Reports that faculty very thankful for goodies provided in workroom
  • Also voices appreciation for providing fundraising through School Store    
  • Participated in World Kindness Day 11/13 with a display in the atrium,  provided bags of goodies for faculty a bookmark, and an individual card written by a student
  • Fourth grade had their presentation for their Giving Projects and raised just under $7000 for their charities
  • 1rst grade will have Kindness penguins
  • Chemo buddies project next week
  • 12/17/2020 Polar Express Day


Upper School/Middle school

  • Thank you to Friends for stocking work room
  • SLC formed a social media group
  • Canned food drive still accepting donations until next Friday
  • Upper school final exams info will be in upcoming news letter
  • Celebrated those Juniors Recognized for:

Rising Stars Class of 2022 and the Richard G. Lugar Symposium for Tomorrow’s Leaders

  • The Cast of Clue was announced and will be performed in April
  • Starting Model Un and Mock trial
  • Middle school SLC is active working on Chemo Buddies project collecting hard candy donations
  • Middle School will have Spirit Week last week of semester
  • 5th grade working on Holidays Around the World Ornaments Project
  • Virtual spelling bee




  • Day of Giving Fundraising raised just over $33,000
  • School is marking 75th Anniversary in 2021 with several spring events planned




  • Niki, Lori, and Laura have been conducting new family “check-ins”
  • Teacher workrooms were decorated for Christmas
  • Stocked workrooms with food and drinks
  • Next week giving gifts to teachers
  • Luncheon provided to teachers last week of the semester
  • Looking forward to the new year;  although unable to do traditional activities we are hoping to do some activities virtually
  • We will be working on building our executive team for 2021-22 with need for positions of President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Middle School Parent Coordinator and continuing  to build our Events Planning Teams
