Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Summer Academy unique?

Summer Academy is taught by Evansville Day School teachers, whose passion and focus are inspiring a love of learning in children. Summer Academy mirrors the educational programming we provide during the school year, but is centered around a new theme each week. Academy participants engage in experiential education, providing hands-on learning while simultaneously serving up a fun and memorable experience. Play is a critical component to a Day School education, and academy participants have plenty of time for play! They spend as much time as weather allows exploring our playground and outdoor campus. We also provide virtual field trips and visitor-based options to provide added fun for our participants.

Is the camp open to the public?

What is your cancellation policy?

Because we hire our staff based on the number of students registered, payment must be received in full at the time of registration. If you can cancel your child's registration at least 2 weeks prior to his/her first day of Summer Academy, you can receive a 50% refund. If you cancel within 2 weeks of your child's first day, no refund is available. However, in either case, if space allows, we can transfer your child to a different week during the same summer for no additional fee.

How Do Waiting Lists Work?

Some weeks will move to a waiting list when they are at or near registration capacity. We encourage interested parents to select this option at registration. We will contact people on the waiting list if spaces become available for any reason before the week begins. Also, if there is enough interest in the waiting list, we may open additional sections as we are able. You will NOT be charged for this option at checkout. We will invoice you after you accept an available opening. If you are planning to utilize before or after care, they can also be added later to your invoice.
