Head of School Search Committee
Patrick serves as the V.P. of Corporate Development and is an Officer and Director of Escalade, Inc. which is a publicly held sporting goods and recreation equipment company headquartered in Evansville, Indiana. He is also the Managing Partner of Water Street Partners which invests in the equity of public and private companies as well as real estate. Patrick currently serves as the President of the Evansville Day School Board of Trustees and Co-Chair of the Head of School Search Committee. He and his wife Jill have two children, their son who is a junior at Stanford University and their daughter who is a junior at Evansville Day School. Patrick holds an M.B.A., as well as an M.A. in Southeast Asian Studies from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. He was also graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas with B.A. degrees in history and economics. Patrick is engaged in the Evansville community serving on the boards of the Community Foundation Alliance and Ascension St. Vincent Evansville Foundation. He is also an active member of the Rotary Club of Evansville. Patrick enjoys snow skiing and cheering on his Michigan Wolverines.
Carol Griffin is a parent of three EDS Eagles in second and sixth grades, as well as a high school freshman. She has served on the Board of Trustees for six years and is the current vice president and chair of the governance committee. Carol is a regulatory affairs and quality assurance professional with expertise in FDA-regulated products as well as streamlining processes and helping teams work more cohesively and efficiently. Carol holds a B.A. in Communication from Xavier University and a Master’s degree in Regulatory Affairs and Quality Compliance from Purdue University. Carol and her husband, Dan, enjoy traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Eric Friend is a Risk Manager specializing in insurance procurement, claims management, and Enterprise Risk Management for an international heavy civil infrastructure construction group. Eric and his wife, Emily, have three daughters at Day School, currently in the 3rd, 7th, and 8th grades. Eric has served on the Board of Trustee’s for two years and is on the Executive Committee and chairs the Risk Management and Facilities subcommittee. Additionally, Emily is an educator by trade and is very active in the school including substitute teaching in the Primary School for the past several years.
Margaret S. Hungate (Margy) is CEO and President of Sentry Investments, Inc. and Vice President of U.S. Industries Group Inc. The companies have been family owned since 1932 and focus on real estate development, commercial construction and property management. For 10 years prior to joining her family owned businesses, she was a commercial lender with Fifth Third Bank and then Bank of Evansville.
Margy attended University of Evansville and played tennis for them from 1994-1998. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, concentration in Finance, and a minor in Spanish.
Margy has been on the Board of Trustees with Evansville Day School for 2.5 years. She also serves on the Board of Field & Main Bank (based out of Henderson, KY) and the Johnson Place Board (neighborhood board). Past board involvement includes: Lampion Center (President), Junior League of Evansville (Treasurer), Evansville Parks Foundation, WNIN, and YWCA.
Margy and her husband, Michael, have a daughter in 2nd grade at EDS and another daughter who attended EDS from JPK through 8th grade. Margy also attended Evansville Day School in the 1980’s. Margy’s greatest joy and accomplishment is being a mom! She also enjoys playing tennis and golf and traveling with family and friends.
David Koch has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Brake Supply Company since joining in January 2012. He has led a strategic transformation in the organization’s customer base along with introducing lean initiatives resulting in world-class levels of efficiency and overall performance. David serves as a Director on five Koch Enterprise’s related boards including Koch Enterprises, Brake Supply, Koch Air, Audubon Metals and the Koch Foundation. Outside of work he is currently active in the community by dedicating time to the Evansville Day School Board of Trustees, acting as Treasurer, serving as the local chair of the Riley Children's Hospital Southwestern Indiana Philanthropy Committee, member of YMCA’s SWIN Metro Board and a member of the Board for the Evansville Industrial Foundation. David graduated from Purdue University with a BSME in 1987 and earned an MBA from IU Kelly School of Business in 1991. David is a native of Evansville and graduated from Reitz Memorial High School in 1983. He lives in Evansville with Sharlet (his wife) and their twin 15-year-old daughters Kristina and Kathryn. Both children recently entered their sophomore year of high school at Evansville Day School in the Class of 2026.
Warren Mathies is a practicing trial lawyer and expert in government affairs, having served as lead counsel in over 1500 cases and testified over 200 times before the Indiana General Assembly. Warren enjoys spending time with family, travel, being outdoors, and attending soccer games with his daughter. He has served on various boards and commissions in Indiana and currently serves on the Evansville Day School Executive Committee.
Amy Romain Barron is Chief Executive Officer of United Companies and has three daughters, who have all attended Evansville Day School. She has been on the Board of Directors for a number of years and most recently served as Board Chair. She remains a member of the Executive Committee and is extremely passionate about EDS.
Niki Traylor is the mother of four children who all started at Evansville Day School in Junior Pre-K and attended through 8th grade. Her youngest daughter, Courtney is currently in the 6th grade at EDS. Niki has been on the Board of Trustees for three years and prior to serving on the board she was the President of Friends, our Parent Association, for three years. Niki’s husband, Chris is a graduate of Evansville Day School and has served as past president of the board. Their family has been involved in EDS for many, many years. Niki graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Exercise Physiology. For over 20 years, she has worked at Tri-State Athletic Club, a local health club here in Evansville. She serves clients through personal training, group exercise instruction, and massage therapy. Niki has also served on various boards in the Evansville community such as: Women’s Fund of Vanderburgh County, Bethlehem United Church of Christ Council, Junior League of Evansville and the Evansville Trails Coalition. She enjoys spending time reading, cooking, and traveling with her family and friends.
