The EDS community enjoyed learning Japanese customs and cultures by Chiaki Tokiwa, Outreach Coordinator from the Japan-America Society of Indiana (JASI). The purpose of JASI is to develop collaboration between Japan and the United State with deeper understanding of each country. Ms. Tokiwa spent time in several classrooms demonstrating Japanese songs, crafts, and the finer points of eating with chopsticks. A special Japanese calligraphy special was held after school and families were invited to attend. Photos of Chiaki's visit are available here. For more information on JASI, click here.
