Vectren presents energy savings check to EDS
This summer, Evansville Day School underwent an energy savings audit, performed by Vectren partner company Nexant. Day School then utilized two energy efficiency programs to upgrade lighting throughout the school. At the completion of the Business Custom Program, the school's outdated 112 fluorescent bulbs were replaced with 26 high efficiency lighting fixtures and LED bulbs. The end result has provided the school with not only brighter lighting, but a net cost that will pay for itself in just over one year. Likewise, through the Vectren Small Business Energy Solutions program, 560 dated and inefficient lighting in classrooms, hallways, restrooms and outdoor fixtures were retro-fit with high-efficiency fixtures and bulbs resulting in a projected payback in savings of just under two years. The project was completed by Larry Stofleth, Day School parent and owner of Completely Wired. On September 3, Vectren President, Brad Ellsworth, was on hand in the Traylor Atrium at EDS to present the cost-saving check of $39,372 to Board of Trustees Past-President, Helen Christian, and Jarin Jaffee, Head of School. According to Mr. Ellsworth "We are delighted to offer these energy saving programs to our customers and this is a classic story of how improving energy efficency of a facility can pay off."
