Adam Ellenstein, EDS class of 1995, accomplished an astonishing feat in 2016 when he earned an official world-record title for swimming the longest distance - 65 miles, the length of Lake Winnipeg in British Colombia. Today, the endurance athlete and his heroic swim is featured in the new documentary, Victory Swim, by Matt Yamashita.

The film focuses on Adam’s relationship with his aunt Susan. When she learned she had Parkinson’s disease, Susan’s world fell apart. Wanting to give her hope, Adam attempted a world record distance swim in her honor. In the film, watch as Adam pushes his body and mind to the breaking point during the grueling 65-mile event. Through Adam’s effort, Susan also discovered her own capacity to face pain and fear. It took love, perseverance, and a positive mindset to get Adam and Susan through the immense challenges that they faced.

Victory Swim is an official selection of the Toronto Beaches Film Festival and will premiere on September 5th to Canadian audiences. It has also been selected by Evansville’s Victory International Film Festival, and will be screened at the film event on September 14th.
